The Olesa street project is based on the design and management of a change or use, transforming an existing office building into a residential building. The building has 4 floors plus 2 penthouses where 17 apartments will be placed. The façade design configuration is based on a system of 2 different sized balconies alternated in each floor, bringing to the design movement and dynamism while the existing structural order is neatly preserved. A handrail sub-order has been designed as a design reinterpretation of typical Barcelona ceramic tiles that give to the building a sense of inheritance of the city. This pattern is replicated in several construction elements and materials throughout the building, and accompanies owners and visitors thorough the common areas towards the apartments.
